About me

Hi, I’m Nikkie, founder of FitOwl and a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer. Originally from Germany, I’ve also spent years living in Switzerland and Austria. Now I call the UAE my home. Fitness has been a transformative journey for me, and I’m here to share my story and inspire yours.

It all started almost 9 years ago when I joined a gym to deal with severe back pain from long hours at an office job. What began as a solution for physical discomfort quickly turned into something much deeper—a way to strengthen my body and mind. Fitness became my therapy, helping me navigate tough days at work, personal challenges, and even heartbreak. Over time, it grew into my passion.

Like many others, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted my routine. I gained weight during the first lockdown, felt disconnected from my fitness goals, and realized I needed a change. That’s when I decided to turn my passion into a profession by earning my fitness instructor and personal trainer certifications. I also discovered that fitness doesn’t have to be tied to a gym membership—it’s about consistency, creativity, and making the most of what you have at home.

My approach to fitness is all about simplicity and sustainability. You don’t need fancy equipment or expensive supplements to see results. Whether your goal is weight loss, muscle building, or simply feeling healthier, I’ll show you how to achieve it affordably and at your own pace. My philosophy extends to nutrition, where I promote clean eating, preparing food from single ingredients, and avoiding highly processed products. Skipping breakfast, eating animal-based proteins with vegetables, and minimizing sugar have become staples of my lifestyle.

FitOwl is more than just fitness—it's about creating a lifestyle that works for you. I also emphasize mindfulness as a key part of health and wellness, integrating practices that help reduce stress and build mental resilience.

My goal with FitOwl is to inspire and empower you to take the first step toward your fitness and wellness goals, no matter where you’re starting from. It’s okay to lose track—it’s all about finding your way back, one step at a time. Together, we can embrace a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
